Welcome to NMSU GRID
NMSU Grants and Research Information Database (GRID), developed and maintained by the Office of Strategic Initiatives (OSI), provides information and resources to help NMSU meet its long-term institutional research priorities and help faculty and staff to successfully obtain funding for research, educational, and training activities.
NMSU GRID currently contains searchable research profiles of over 400 NMSU employees. All registered users with profiles in GRID have been sent emails providing their usernames and passwords.
If you haven’t received this email, Register to enter your profile. You’ll have access to internal funding opportunity notices, an updated list of external funding solicitations, and an automatic email notification system. Through your profile preferences, you can select targeted distribution lists (based on research and cluster interests), and new funding opportunities will be emailed to you, along with up-to-date information for opportunities, workshops, and conferences.
Registered users will have access to the following.
My Profile
Use My Profile to view and edit your general information, research information, and email notification preferences. Profiles contain information users entered when registering or information VPRGI had on file. Your General and Research Information will allow your colleagues to easily find you for upcoming research, education, and training activities.
Researcher Profiles
Searching for collaborators with particular expertise or capabilities? Looking to apply your research, expertise, and/or capabilities into new, unexplored directions? Click on Researcher Profiles and search the database to find NMSU researchers with experience in the fields in which you’re interested.
External Funding Opportunities
Looking for additional funding? Search the External Opportunities database, comprised of opportunities posted on Grants.gov, FebBizOpps.gov, and other sites. This database contains only opportunities for which the NMSU community is eligible to pursue. Key features include a search capability, export capability into Word, Excel, or PDF, and email notifications based on research interests you select in My Profile.
Internal Funding Opportunities
Looking for additional funding for you or your students? Register to upload associated documents for available Interdisciplinary Research Grant (IRG), Graduate Research Enhancement Grant (GREG), and Undergraduate Research Initiative Grant (URIG) opportunities. Our new registration process will make applying easier for researchers and reviewers. Key features include a status indicator on the progress of your application (complete/incomplete), status of the review process (not looked at/under review), and award status (awarded/not awarded). Registration forms will be available only during application periods.
NMSU Standard Information
Looking for the most updated institutional information? OSI is working with various departments to centralize the most often requested institutional information that the NMSU community uses for reports, briefings, and proposals. Examples include research rankings, Carnegie-Mellon Research Designation, minority status and statistics, and how-to articles.
Future Components
- Limited Submission Process - In accordance with guidelines of the VPRGI, if more PIs than the stated limit-per-institution are interested in a Limited Submission, OSI conducts an internal competition to select the proposals that can proceed. OSI intends to make this process more efficient by using the GRID's capabilities.
- Teaming Process - In accordance with guidelines of the VPRGI, if you are looking to team with an external entity, administrators in various NMSU colleges and departments must be notified to ensure there are no conflicts before anyone can proceed. OSI handles this process and plans to make this process more efficient using the NMSU GRID capabilities.
- Add a Solicitation - Are you aware of an opportunity but don’t see it listed in the NMSU GRID? This function will allow you to add an opportunity, and we can maintain a complete list of solicitations.
- Email a Colleague - See an opportunity you’re interested in? “Email a colleague” will allow you to forward that solicitation to those you work with or would like to work with to pursue that funding.
- Frequent Collaborators - This will allow you to list all colleagues you work with closely, along with brief descriptions of their expertise. This will make those searching for interdisciplinary team members easier.
Unregistered users can Login as Guest and search for external funding opportunities only.
